Case studies

Our humidity management system has been rigorously tested in various facilities such as abattoirs, supermarkets, and vegetable processing and packing plants. Although these facilities handle different products, they have all experienced the benefits of our AbsorbItAll filters, which consistently show positive results. We take pride in the fact that all the test data presented below has been conducted and shared with us by our satisfied clients. Our technology has made a significant impact in reducing pathogens, minimizing wastage, and lowering energy consumption in their operations.

01

Weight loss test

Supermarket butchery

A beef forequarter and whole lamb were weighed for a three day period, pre and post the installation of the AbsorbItAll filters.  The % weight loss was substantially reduced after the installation of the filters, allowing the client to generate more profit and improve the quality of their meat as it retained more of its natural color, texture and appearance.

02

Weight loss test & excess moisture comparison

Wholesale butchery

In this wholesale butchery, two hindquarters were cut from the same carcass and placed in two separate cold rooms for five days - one with AbsorbItAll filters fitted, the other without.  The % weight loss was 1.24% lower in the cold room fitted with AbsorbItAll filters, thus the hindquarter stored in that cold room was able to generate a higher profit.

Excess moisture comparison

Photographed below is the cold room before (below left) and after (below right) the installation of the AbsorbItAll filters.  Excess water has been absorbed by the AbsorbItAll filters.  This has two benefits: it enables the cold room to maintain a more stable temperature due to the reduction of latent heat ; it removes the host for bacteria.  Staff confirmed that the cold room felt much colder than usual.

03

Shelf life test

Vegetable grower

A pallet of celery was harvested by the client on 27-06-2022 and separated to be stored between cold room 1 (no filters) and cold room 2 (with filters).  The shelf life and condition of the celery was monitored for 7 days thereafter.  From the 5th day, the condition of the celery stored in the cold room without filters was deemed "poor" while the celery in the cold room with filters remained in good condition up until and further than the 7 day period.

Condition = good

04

Relative humidity & temperature comparison

Supermarket fruit & veg cold room

A relative humidity (blue line) & temperature (black line) logger that takes a reading every ten minutes was installed into the fruit & veg cold room at a supermarket pre-installation (below left) and post-installation (below right) of the AbsorbItAll filters.  The straight dotted blue and black reference lines are in the same position on both graphs.

The relative humidity stabilized, reducing produce moisture loss and improving the cooling efficiency of the cold room.  The average temperature dropped by 2.3 degrees celsius and as can be seen below, once the temperature spiked upwards it took a much shorter amount of time to return to its desired setting thanks to the stabilized relative humidity and improved cooling efficiency.
